Greenmeadow Primary School

After School Clubs

We run a variety of After School Clubs each term. Below are some of the examples:

Forest School

This club is led by Neil from Wild Inspired, who currently runs our forest school sessions during the school day. Within the school grounds, the group will undertake a range of activities which could include den/shelter building, nature trails, woodcraft and fire safety. Old clothes, a coat and wellington boots / sturdy boots are an essential.

Soccer Excellence Football

Soccer Excellence will be returning to Greenmeadow Primary School to provide football coaching.  The children will learn to play as part of a team as well learn a variety of skills covering all the different aspects of football.

Staff Lead Clubs inc a range of themes

A number of different sports and other curriculum related clubs will be on offer, teaching children teamwork, ball skills, fitness and co-ordination. Other clubs support music, science and other skills.

Booking your clubs

Places are limited and will be available on a first come first served basis for identified year groups. The costs are per term and we will expect your child to attend every session.  If your child is not able to attend the club, you must let the school office know.  Payments are to be made in advance and are non-refundable.

Welcome

Greenmeadow pupils, from Foundation to Year 6, can join our breakfast club, held in the Studio (next to the hall), which has an informal and friendly atmosphere run by our own dedicated staff.

The breakfast club provides a quiet comfortable space for reading, space for free play as well as more structured activities. Each morning a nutritious breakfast is provided and the children are encouraged to help themselves, sit down, talk together, and then clear up their dishes: the idea is that our breakfast replicates as far as possible the atmosphere of a family meal.

Opening Times

We are open every weekday during term time, excluding inset days, from 7.30 a.m. until school starts when the children are taken to their classrooms. Your child can be dropped off between 07:30 a.m. and 08:15 a.m. via the green, gated entrance on the left hand side of the car park. Please let staff know you have arrived by pressing the entry buzzer. Please note that entry after 08:15 a.m. will not be possible as staff will be getting ready to take children to their classrooms. Please park on Pen Close as the car park will be busy with staff arriving.

All parents/carers must ensure that their child is signed in each morning.

Bookings and Fees

Places are allocated on a first come, first served basis. Once you have notified the office staff that you would like to book a breakfast club space you will receive a link to make your booking on ParentPay. All places must be booked and paid for in advance of the session via ParentPay. These payments must be received before the date of attendance otherwise your child’s place will automatically be removed for that day. For example, for your child to attend on a Wednesday your payment must be received at the latest by midnight on the Monday before.

We also accept payment by childcare vouchers. Please contact the school office if you wish to pay by this method. As above, voucher payments must be received in advance of the booking in order for us to manually credit your account.

Parents of children attending the club on a regular basis can book places in advance for the term.

If you wish to cancel your booking, we require one week’s notice in writing.

The fee for breakfast club is £4.00 per session per child. The cost remains the same regardless of the time that your child arrives or whether or not they have breakfast.

Greenmeadow Primary School reserves the right to withdraw the place from your child and refuse further bookings following non-payment of fees.

Fees will not be refunded unless the breakfast club is cancelled for any reason.

Menu

Breakfast is prepared by our staff who hold Food Hygiene Certificates and follow the healthy eating guidelines. Children are encouraged to help themselves, sit down, talk together, and then clear up their dishes. All children are encouraged to eat and drink something.

Example breakfast menu would be: - Cereal, toast or crumpets (with various toppings), fruit. milk, fruit juice, and water.

Please ensure that staff are made aware if your child has any food allergies or intolerances.

Policies

The breakfast club is part of Greenmeadow Primary School and adopts all schools’ policies and procedures. Pupils are expected to respect the ethos and values of the school while attending breakfast club as they would during the school day.

Communication

We aim to make each child happy and comfortable at the breakfast club. If there is any specific information that you feel the breakfast club staff should know then please email the school office. Any information relevant to a particular day can be discussed briefly at drop off. If you have any more detailed issues that you would like to discuss with club staff, then you can arrange a mutually convenient time outside of club hours.

As you will appreciate, the breakfast club staff have several children to look after and cannot always pass individual messages onto class teachers. Please forward messages by way of a written note or a message to the school office as usual.
