Greenmeadow Sports Clubs and Competitions 2018-2019

At Greenmeadow, we aim to ensure every child has many opportunities to experience a wide variety of sports each term, through a variety of after school clubs. All children are welcome to attend these clubs, of which the majority are free. Many of our clubs are directed towards a upcoming competition with other schools where children are given the opportunity to represent Greenmeadow.

Clubs

To view the clubs that have been on offer currently, please go to the letters section of the website.

A termly text message will be sent out when clubs are available to book. Please respond by following the link (eduspot) on the text to book a place. We ask that you respond promptly so that we can organise clubs effectively and also to ensure a place for your child.

 Competitions

We enter many competitions throughout the year and aim to ensure as many children as possible experience representing the school. All competitions have a club preceding them to develop the necessary skills and knowledge to take part successfully.

Below are photos that promote our sporting ethos and achievements.

We are proud to have achieved the Sainsbury's Platinum Mark which is a significant achievement that celebrates schools which sustain active, sporting involvement.

Children are encouraged to have a good sporting attitude and play fairly and politely whether they win or lose. .

We display recent and older competitions to show the range of sports we participate in, with reports from the sport leaders.

Children are encouraged to focus on their effort to gain personal progress, whatever their starting point.

Children are encouraged to share outside sporting clubs and achievements.

Children are encouraged to follow 'Change For Life' health advice, distributing material and also doing suggested PE activities.

To support an inclusive sporting ethos, we aim to invite inspirational speakers, for example Louise Hunt, a paralympian athlete.

Please enjoy one of our two dance festival videos!

Below are photos from our two entries into the Swindon Schools Dance Festival. 'Dancing through the Ages' and 'Aladdin Compilation'.

Below is a slide show of some of the KS2 Invasion Team Competitions we have entered in Key Stage 2.
